By creating an account or using Marshmallow Reading ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are creating an account on behalf of a child, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and accept these terms on their behalf.
Marshmallow Reading is a subscription-based reading platform that allows families to log books and audiobooks and earn bitcoin rewards when children reach reading milestones. The Service is available at marshmallowreading.com and via the Android application.
Marshmallow Reading offers annual family subscription plans billed through Stripe. Current pricing is listed on our website. By subscribing you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis.
New accounts may access a limited free trial. During the trial, book logging is capped at 8 books total and audiobooks are not available. Trial limits are enforced automatically.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by applicable law.
Marshmallow Reading offers bitcoin (satoshi) rewards when children reach reading milestones. Rewards are denominated in satoshis as specified in the app. When a milestone is reached, the parent or guardian is solely responsible for depositing bitcoin to the milestone wallet address provided in the app. Marshmallow Reading does not fund milestone wallets directly. Bonus satoshis are sent automatically only after a confirmed deposit is detected on the Bitcoin network. Marshmallow Reading is not responsible for lost funds due to incorrect wallet addresses or lost private keys.

All content, trademarks, and software comprising the Service are owned by or licensed to Marshmallow Reading. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial family use. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that any particular bitcoin reward will be delivered within a specific time frame due to network conditions outside our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Marshmallow Reading's total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of bitcoin rewards arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta, except where prohibited by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or non-payment. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting privacy@marshmallowreading.com. Upon termination, any undelivered pending rewards may be forfeited.
